The 4th plenary meeting of the NEMESYS project was hosted by Telecom Italia Information Technology (TIIT) in Turin, Italy on 1-2 April 2014.

The meeting first focused on kicking-off the activities of the exploitation task, where it was decided to organise meetings with representatives from the marketing, security and standardisation departments of Telecom Italia and COSMOTE, in order to discuss the innovations that NEMESYS introduces and how they can be improved to meet the needs of mobile operators.

Afterwards, the partners discussed technical issues regarding the integration of the virtualised mobile honeypot and lightweight malware detector, the implementation of the data collection infrastructure, and the generation of attack traces related to femtocell architecture. Developments in the mobile network simulator, anomaly detection algorithms and visual analytics were also presented and discussed.

The meeting concluded with a visit to Telecom Italia’s testplant, where the partners presented their work in the project and were introduced to the infrastructure available for conducting mobile network experiments, which is planned to be utilised during the evaluation phase of NEMESYS.
